Abstract

While there are several repair options for full-thickness helical rim defects and partial-thickness defects of the central ear, there are few repair options for full-thickness defects of the conchal bowl. A pedicled retroauricular flap has been described for repair of a full-thickness conchal bowl defect, but it is a 3-stage flap.1 For patients needing a single-stage repair, such as in patients with aggressive skin cancers requiring adjuvant radiation in a timely manner postsurgery, there are few options that maintain contour, size, and functionality of the central ear.
