Abstract

In this work, we want to explain our views on the death penalty by analyzing the manifestations of philosophical theories such as retributivism, consequentialism, and deontology in the death penalty: the death penalty is immoral and can be replaced by life imprisonment without parole. Likewise, we will answer the objections to our proposed theory: why the punishment of the death penalty is excessive, and why, in the context of this excessive punishment, the death penalty cannot and did not play a role in improving the overall happiness of society as a penalty should, and why life imprisonment without parole can replace the death penalty and can play a role in improving the overall happiness of society.
