Abstract

A system for retraining memory is presented that emphasizes functional skills and external memory aids. The system is based on a theoretical model of memory and principles of transfer and generalization. Several conventional memory strategies are described and evaluated. Various prosthetic memory devices are presented along with case studies that illustrate how effective memory training systems are planned and implemented.
