Clinical Linguistics & Phonetics, 13, 381–393.In Volume 13, number 5, 1999, the above-mentioned article was published in the Journal.It is the policy of Clinical Linguistics & Phonetics to publish only original scholarship. It has been brought to our attention that a significant portion of this paper was based upon un-cited, and previously published works. This unfortunate situation has only recently come to light.In view of this irregularity, we have taken the decision to retract the article in full.
