Cancer. 2018;142: 1392-1404. https://doi.org/10.1002/ijc.31173 The above article, published online 23 Nov 2017 on Wiley Online Library (https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/pdf/10.1002/ijc.31173), has been retracted by agreement between the authors, the journal Editor-in-Chief, Prof. Christoph Plass, the Union for International Cancer Control-UICC, and Wiley Periodicals LLC. The retraction has been agreed due to concerns raised by the editorial team after a systematic internal investigation and some of the issues have also been noticed by a third party. The detailed analysis of the published images revealed incorrect duplications in Figures 1e, f, g, h; 2f, g; 3e, f; 6f and Supplementary Figures S2B; S3A, B. As a result, due to the number and severity of the problems, the conclusions of the article are considered unreliable.
