Retraction Statement: Memory Effects in Salinity Profiles From Black Sea Sediments

The above article, published online on 5 April 2022 in Wiley Online Library (https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com), has been retracted by agreement between the authors; the journal Editor in Chief, Matthew Huber; the American Geophysical Union; and Wiley Periodicals LLC. The retraction has been agreed because of an error with the data; the chlorinity of the porewaters from DSDP site 379/379A was used in modeling, instead of the salinity. This error has consequences for the interpreted history of the Black Sea salinity. The authors apologize for this error and have submitted a corrected version of the article, which is available at Boudreau, B. P., Calvert, S., & Kienast, M. (2022).
