(J Laparoendosc Adv Surg Tech A. 2016;26(9):680-688. DOI: 10.1089/lap.2016.0165; PMID: 27420918), the lead author of the paper, Tianpei Guan, contacted the Editor of the Journal and requested a formal retraction of the article as the authors now believe that they used the wrong statistical methods and are concerned that the results might be inconclusive or wrong.
