Abstract
This article has been retracted at the request of the author Reason: Duplicate publication The editor and publisher would like to confirm the retraction of this paper at the request of the author. This article was essentially a duplication of a paper that had already appeared in the Egyptian Journal of Geology 52 (2008) 25–54. The author would like to apologize for a misunderstanding on his part that led him to believe that the publication of the paper in a local journal and Lithos, without prior agreement with both journals and clear notification, did not represent duplicate publication.
