Abstract

AbstractRetraction: M.E. Haque and M.S. Parvin. First report of Talaromyces pinophilus causing postharvest rot of sugar beet (Beta vulgaris) in Minnesota, USA. New Disease Reports (2020) 42, 15 (https://www.ndrs.org.uk/article.php?id=042015). The above article, published online on 12 November 2020 in New Disease Reports, has been retracted by agreement between the journal's Senior Editor (Gerard Clover), the British Society for Plant Pathology, and John Wiley & Sons Ltd. The retraction has been agreed due to concerns that (1) the symptoms caused by Talaromyces pinophilus should not have been presented as a first report without explaining that the required conditions would not occur during normal agricultural practice, and (2) the appropriate permission was not sought for publication, as communicated by the Department of Plant Pathology, North Dakota State University.
