RETRACTION: 5-Lipoxygenase antagonizes genotoxic stress-induced apoptosis by altering p53 nuclear trafficking.

The above article, published online on September 16, 2004 in Wiley Online Library (wileyonlinelibrary.com), has been retracted by agreement between the journal Editor-in-Chief, Dr. Loren E. Wold; the Federation of American Societies for Experimental Biology; and Wiley Periodicals LLC. Following publication, concerns were raised by third parties regarding several figures, which were then investigated further. The authors were unable to provide a satisfactory explanation and could not provide the original data due to the time passed since publication. This retraction was therefore agreed because of the presence of duplicated and manipulated data elements in Figures1A, F; 2E; 3A-C; 5B; and 6A, B, affecting the interpretation of the data and the results presented. A.C. has been informed of the decision to retract. P.C., A.P., S.S., and M.R. collaborated during the investigation, agreed to the retraction, and stated that they were not involved in processing the raw data into figures. M.R. and A.P. also stated that none of the experiments reported in the figures listed above were done in their laboratories.
