Abstract

Brain tumor edge detection system has been of great aid to the human physicians. This paper presents a comparison study of two of the most effective edge detection methods. The two methods are Interval type-2 fuzzy system and adaptive filter. The study is conducted using MATLAB. These edge detectors are tested on images added with 0.001 white Gaussian noise and salt and pepper noise. Main feature of the algorithm is that it has been designed by using the adaptive filter with IT2FLS which produces clearer and brighter edges as compared to conventional methods results found in the literature.
