Introduction

The use of mobile phones for dating purposes has been part of the expansion and maintenance of social life in cosmopolitan societies (Aricat, Karnowski & Chib, 2015). In the metropolis, where the penetration rate for mobile telephony is high, social ties have been more intertwined with everyday romantic and sexual life that resulted to hyperpersonal social relationships.
