Abstract
The electric power industry is an important industrial sector in China for it has a significant influence on the development of the national economy, with electricity consumption being a vital weatherglass of economic development. Research and analysis of the relationship between electricity consumption and the macroeconomic and other factors, has important reference value for the development of the power industry development strategy. This paper adopts Frisch regression method in econometrics to carry out researches on the interrelations between electricity consumption and the factors of macro economy, population growth, electricity prices, changes in industrial structure, people's living standards and so on. By conducting empirical analysis on related data of Fujian Province from 1995 to 2013, the paper draws a conclusion that the major factors affecting the electricity consumption in Fujian Province include people's living standards and industrial structure. Eventually, this paper puts forwards corresponding suggestions for the coordinated development of the electric power industry, economic growth and environmental protection.
