Abstract
Using field survey and literature analysis method from 2014-2015, taking Beijing Tianshou cemetery and the Babaoshan peoples cemetery as the research object, we study the characteristics of plant landscape of the cemetery of modern city. The results show: many pine and cypress trees and native plants are planted in the two cemeteries. Integration of Chinese and Western, beautiful scenery and good ecological-environment are the plant landscaping characteristics of Tianshou cemetery; but the people Babaoshan cemetery are simple and solemn. Through investigation, we suggest the plant landscape of modern cemetery would take the all the cemetery and its surrounding three dimensional space as canvas, garden plants and natural landscape as conception and color elements, plant landscape design as painting brush, Chinese traditional funeral culture as painting soul, construct ecological and culture grave yard.
