Abstract

abstract We, the Editor and Publisher of Review of Education, Pedagogy, and Cultural Studies, have retracted the following article: Cristian Olivares Gatica, J. Fabián Cabaluz Ducasse & Diego Cabezas Bravo (2021). “The political-educational praxis of Luis Emilio Recabarren (1904–1924),” Review of Education, Pedagogy, and Cultural Studies, DOI: 10.1080/10714413.2021.1941550. The Editor of Review of Education, Pedagogy, and Cultural Studies and Taylor & Francis note that the policy of the journal is to consider only original material. It has become known that this article contains substantial overlap with the thesis “Luis Emilio Racabarren: Educator of the Chilean Working Class” by María Alicia Vetter (2013), which became the basis for Vetter’s 2020 monograph, The Educational Philosophy of Luis Emilio Recabarren: Pioneering Working-Class Education in Latin America (ISBN 9780367861193), and the book chapter “A Pedagogy for power: Antonio Gramsci and Luis Emilio Recabarren on the educational role of working-class organizations” in Antonio Gramsci: A pedagogy to change the world by María Alicia Vetter and John D. Holst (ISBN 978-3-319-40449-3). The retracted article will remain online to maintain the scholarly record, but it will be digitally watermarked on each page as “Retracted”. We have been informed in our decision-making by our policy on publishing ethics and integrity and the COPE guidelines on retractions.
