Abstract
Droplets of Pr3+-doped LaF3nanocrystals in oxyfluoride glass and glass-ceramics self-limitedly grow through phase separation. The Al concentrated middle layer is sandwiched between La, F and Pr enriched inner core and Si augmented exterior shell.
