Abstract
Cancer is one of the incurable diseases in the world. Hence, we have effectively synthesized the PEGlyated carbon nanodots loaded cisplatin PEG-CDs@Pt(IV) for targeted therapy of lung cancer therapy. The PEG-CDs@Pt(IV) confirmed by the electroscopic and spectroscopic methods (TEM, DLS, IR and UV–Vis). The In vitro cytotoxicity of the nanoparticles examined two lung cancers (A549 and HEL-299 cells), and one non-cancer cell line (HUVECs) were used in this study by using MTT assay. The nanoparticles are effectively killing cancer cells without affecting the non-cancerous cells. Further we established the morphological changes were of A549 cancer cells, which clearly displays that the nanoparticles induce apoptosis. By compared with PEG-CDs@Pt(IV) and PEG-CDs@Pt(IV) + NIR-NPs, the NIR mediated nanoparticles effectively induce the apoptosis. Also we examined the apoptosis by using flow cytometry, the outcomes suggested that the using PEG-CDs@Pt(IV) + NIR-NPs ultimately killed the A549 cancer cells with IC50 concentrations and were quantified.
