We, the Editors and Publisher of the journal of Maternal-Fetal & Neonatal Medicine, have retracted the following article: Mullapudi Venkata Surekha, Thathapudi Sujatha, Shravanthi Gadhiraju, Putcha Uday Kumar, Mudili Siva Prasad, Gummadi Sailaja, V. Bhaskar & Thimmapuram Srinivas (2022) Expression of iron transport protein Divalent metal transporter 1 (DMT1) increases in response to maternal iron deficiency anemia in near term to term placenta, The Journal of Maternal-Fetal & Neonatal Medicine, 35:6, 1045–53. doi:10.1080/14767058.2020.1742317. Bhaskar (2022) Impact of maternal iron deficiency anaemia on the expression of the newly discovered multi-copper ferroxidase, Zyklopen, in term placentas, Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, 42:1, 74–82, DOI: 10.1080/01443615.2021.1882968 The authors were contacted and, while they cooperated with the investigation and confirmed there were errors present in the article, they were unable they were unable to address the concerns raised. As verifying the validity of published work is core to the integrity of the scholarly record, we are therefore retracting the article. The corresponding author listed in this publication has been informed. We have been informed in our decision-making by our policy on publishing ethics and integrity and the COPE guidelines on retractions. The retracted article will remain online to maintain the scholarly record, but it will be digitally watermarked on each page as “Retracted.”
