Abstract

A careful analysis of the article figures has revealed several instances of image manipulation. In Fig. 1.1 a thinly branching colony of Thecosmilia dichotoma (Koby, 1887) was duplicated and a longitudinal view of the same species was triplicated in Fig. 1.2. Also, the image of the thinly branching colony of Thecosmilia langi (Koby, 1884) was duplicated in Fig. 1.3. There is also a major concern regarding the images of Plate 2 and the validity of the whole study. The Publishing Editor also discovered that the manuscript was submitted without the knowledge and approval of the second senior author. The Editor-in-Chief and the Publishing Editor have therefore decided to retract this article.
