Abstract

We, the editors and publisher of Death Studies, in agreement with the author, have retracted the following book review: Li Fu. (2023). Conversations across the veil: A review of Interdisciplinary Explorations of Postmortem Interaction: Dead Bodies, Funerary Objects, and Burial Spaces Through Texts and Time edited by Estella Weiss-Krejci, Sebastian Becker and Philip Schwyzer. New York: Springer Publishing Company, 2022. 329 pp. (ISBN: 978-3-031-03955-3). $59.99 US, Death Studies, DOI: 10.1080/07481187.2023.2225905 It has been retracted as it erroneously attributes content to A review of Interdisciplinary Explorations of Postmortem Interaction: Dead Bodies, Funerary Objects, and Burial Spaces Through Texts and Time. A considerable proportion of the review refers to content which has not been published in the above book. We have been informed in our decision-making by our policy on publishing ethics and integrity and the COPE guidelines on retractions. The retracted article will remain online to maintain the scholarly record, but it will be digitally watermarked on each page as “Retracted”.
