Abstract

In the current study, a new Cu(II)-containing coordination polymer (CP) with the chemical formula of {[Cu2(H2O)5(tpt)(L)]·6H2O} n (1, tpt = 2,4,6‐tris(4‐pyridyl)‐1,3,5‐triazine and L = 3,3′‐disulfonyl‐4,4′‐biphenyldicarboxylate) has been successfully produced via a hydrothermal reaction of Cu(NO3)2·3H2O with the carboxylate ligand L in the presence of the auxiliary N-donor ligand tpt. The anti-cancer activity of the new compound on retinoblastoma was evaluated and the related mechanism was explored at the same time. First of all, the Cell Counting Kit-8 (CCK-8) kit was performed to determine the viability of the Y79 retinoblastoma cells after compound treatment. Next, after compound exposure, the activation of the JAK-STA signaling pathway in the Y79 retinoblastoma cells was measured with real time reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) assay.
