Abstract

The purpose of this research is to analyse the prospective teachers’ speaking anxiety from the aspect of different variables. The research was achieved with 308 female (% 61.8) and 190 male (%38.2), 498 prospective teachers totally, having education in 2013-2014 academic year, in Dicle University Ziya Gokalp Faculty of Education. “Scale of Speaking Anxiety for Prospective Teachers“ which was developed by researchers and consists of 3 dimension and 40 items was used as data collection tool. In consequence of the research, that there is meaningful difference on behalf of persons saying ‘’No’’ according to situation of making a speech in a formal ceremony and prospective teachers’ speaking anxiety differantiates according to class level and field in all sub-dimensions except physiological symtoms and total anxiety scores were found. That there isn’t a meaningful difference between prospective teachers’ speaking anxiety according to their gender was determined
