Abstract

With decades-long careers, many retired credentialed practitioners may be considered experts by their colleagues in applying the core principles of the Code of Ethics, which guide the nutrition and dietetics profession. Developed by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (Academy) and its credentialing agency, the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR), the Code of Ethics for the Nutrition and Dietetics Profession applies to all CDR-credentialed practitioners and all Academy members and is designed to promote and stimulate ethical behavior, discourage professional misconduct, and strengthen the Academy’s credibility.
