Abstract
The potentially blinding ‘Retinopathy of Prematurity’ (ROP) can only be detected and managed when the consulting neonatologist is aware of the condition. The role of trained ophthalmologist is vital in this scenario, more so when the locality is far away from the mainland. In this study conducted at eastern part of India, the author found 34% incidence of ROP in the referred babies. Possible reasons for high incidence and management is discussed in the article.
