Abstract
Obstructive sleep apnoea (OSA) is a common sleep-related breathing disorder associated with major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE). Endothelial dysfunction is a silent precursor to atherosclerosis and a proposed mechanistic link between OSA and consequent cardiovascular risk. We examined whether retinal microvascular endothelial dysfunction is impaired in subjects with OSA and predictive of long-term MACE.
