Abstract

Colobomas of the choroid and optic nerve predispose patients to retinal detachment and visual loss. This study explored the incidence of retinal complications (fluid, detachment), reviewed their course and management, and identified a novel treatment (oral acetazolamide followed by indirect laser) for early onset retinal detachment in a monocular patient with optic nerve coloboma.
