Abstract

This chapter focuses on exploring new ways to ease the provision of public goods and global public goods (GPGs). It identifies the discrepancies prevailing between the theory and reality of public goods, and shows how the conventional concept covers only a part of the reality of public goods. The chapter focuses on national public goods and explores the state’s role in their provision. It also focuses on potential conceptual changes needed for a better understanding of the provision of GPGs. The analysis of different facts reveals the significance of stakeholders and decision-makers working jointly to aid the provision of a specific public good.
