Abstract

Characteristics of retention and release of hydrogen isotopes in carbon materials have been described. The steady state depth profile of hydrogen isotopes in graphite during implantation is calculated by solving the mass balance equations. The experimental data on the rate constants of diffusion, trapping, thermal and ion-induced detrapping and local recombination, taken into account in the mass balance equations, are presented and discussed
