Abstract

Hung, T.M. and Lee, C.J., 1990. Retardation of the transport of Eu(III) through supported di(2-ethylhexyl)phosphoric acid-kerosene liquid membrane. ISEC'90 The permeation of Eu(III) with supported liquid membrane containing di(2-ethylhexyl)phosphoric acid (HDEHP) diluted in kerosene was studied. The existence of acetate may affect the permeation of Eu(III). In the presence of potassium chloride and sodium acetate, the Eu(III) ions transfer was retarded owing to a surplus of acetate ions on feed-membrane interface. This effect may be attributed to the phenomenon of concentration polarization of acetate ions.
