Abstract
SUMMARYA review of 20 months’ utilization of silver nitrate therapy for the treatment of burns has been carried out. These results have been compared with figures utilizing previous standard methods of therapy.This preliminary study with silver nitrate indicates the length of time necessary for hospitalization of burn patients to complete epithelization has been markedly shortened. The mortality rate has been reduced. The complication rate has also been reduced.
