Abstract

The menisci play an important role in the functioning of the knee joint. Ruptures of the menisci cause significant changes in joint kinematics, which is one of the prerequisites for the development of early osteoarthritis. Suturing a torn meniscus prevents this complication. The aim of the study was to study the results of the implemented program of physical rehabilitation of patients after suturing vertical tears of the meniscus of the knee joint using the "all-inside" technique. 43 patients who underwent suturing of a vertical meniscus tear using the "all-inside" technique took part in the study. Patients were divided into 2 groups. The first experimental group - 21 people who were given a rehabilitation program according to our method. The second group, the control group - 22 patients who underwent rehabilitation according to the existing program. In the process of rehabilitation measures, the intensity of pain in patients of the experimental group according to VAS significantly decreased (p < 0,001). Bending of the knee joint in the experimental group reached 96,42% of the normal, in the control group 78,57%. During the rehabilitation process, there was an increase in muscle tone and amplitude of the quadriceps muscle among patients in the experimental group.
