T 2013 Region 5 Soil Judging Contest, hosted by Missouri State University in Springfield, MO from Sept. 16–20, 2013. Seven teams competed (South Dakota State University, University of Minnesota, University of Nebraska, Kansas State University, Iowa State University, University of Missouri, and Missouri State University), and students competed individually and as a team. The schools were then ranked overall based on both individual and team scores. Schools ranking in the top three overall will participate in the national contest.
