Abstract

The paper presents measurements of the atmospheric radio noise (ARN) at 27 kc/s made between 1963 and 1966 at four unified European stations: Uppsala (60° N), Kühlungsborn (54° N) Prague-Panská Ves (50.5° N) and Sofia (43° N). The results concern the daily and annual variations and the latitude dependence of the mean integrated field strength. The diurnal maximum-level variations at Uppsala and Kühlungsborn are shown by an amplitude probability-distribution function. Finally, the results are compared with the predictions of the ARN level made by the C.C.I.R.
