Abstract
Image guided radiation therapy (IGRT) using real-time imaging with on-line correction has become standard practice and is the driving force in refinement of external beam prostate radiation therapy. Technologies that facilitate this practice are new, and little long-term data is available documenting their outcomes. Since 1997, a successful form of off-line, image-guided, adaptive radiation therapy (IGART) has been used at our institution, and we report the largest series of prostate cancer patients treated with dose-escalated IGRT available to date.
