Abstract

A research programme was set up by European Institutes to compare the testing methods employed by their laboratories to measure characteristic parameters of air‐assisted orchard sprayers. The parameters studied in this programme were: air flow rate, air velocity and liquid distribution. The study showed differences between the laboratories. which could partly be explained as resulting from the measuring devices or the testing methods. Recommendations are given to avoid major measurement errors.
