Abstract

This paper discusses the present status and future of the hard coal mining industry in Poland. It assesses changes in production volume, production potential, and employment and financial performance during the period 1989–1993. It then describes the ongoing restructuring of the industry - organizational solutions, technical considerations and economic aspects.
