Abstract

Not-for-profit mental health agency administration should study whether a need exists for the use of realistic job previews in their respective organizations. Theoretically, the RJP makes sense, and in practice, empirical evidence suggests effectiveness. Agencies that are experiencing high turnover rates may benefit from the use of RJPs. Additionally, ethical considerations of the profession do factor into the decision as to whether an agency uses RJPs. The social work code of ethics does advocate full disclosure to clients. Why should employees deserve less consideration?
