• Criminal offenders declared not imputable were compared to non-violent controls. • Resting-state functional connectivity was compared between the two groups. • Offenders had higher functional connectivity in fronto-striatal networks. • Offenders had lower functional connectivity between accumbens and amygdala. • Offenders shows aberrant connectivity in morality, salience and reward network.
