Abstract

The Twin House designed by Le Corbusier in 1927 for Weissenhofsiedlung constitutes a landmark as a project for the construction of dwellings in the Modern Movement. Its precarious state of repair required restoration works, performed by the Wüstenrot Foundation not necessarily with a view to retrieving its original state but to restoring the houses and preparing them for visits while conserving at least part of the changes and adaptations that these twin dwellings had undergone throughout their lifespan. The text explains myriad constructive details of the design and construction process and reveals the technical solutions adopted during the restoration works.
