Abstract

Introduction : Given the increasing search for a perfect smile , such as those of magazine covers and soap operas , the demand for aesthetic treatments in dentistry has increased gradually in recent years . The current beauty standards lead patients to seek cosmetic dentistry , requiring professional aesthetic quality and increasingly white harmonious smiles . Proposition : Given the existing restorative strategies, extra fine ceramic facets stand out as an available option for aesthetic rehabilitation treatment. The thickness of the dental contact lenses varies between 0.3 and 0.5 mm, restoring facial harmony to the patient. These extra fine facets are cemented to the front of the tooth, with little or no enamel wear, to correct small imperfections such as teeth spacing , broken teeth, misalignment, tooth wear, and aging signs. Material and Methods: This task reports a clinical case of a patient who was unsatisfied with the aesthetics and harmony of her teeth. All stages of the treatment were demonstrated, which used indirect ceramic facets known as contact lenses due to its thin ceramic material. It also describes the preparation protocol from diagnosis, planning, cavity preparation, molding, and cementing. Results: The use of the ceramic laminate in aesthetic and functional recovery demonstrated its high aesthetic potential and its excellent integration with periodontal tissues , but the indication should be performed with certain criteria and parsimony , since it is an extremely delicate material , and fractures may occur in cases of incorrect indication, where the occlusal adjustment after installation is critical . Conclusions: The correct and careful planning combined with the knowledge of the technique and materials are essential to the success of an aesthetic rehabilitation treatment, so as to achieve longevity, success, and the patient’s satisfaction.
