Abstract
In Chapter 1, Professor Mike Saks, the editor, begins by summarizing the position of various key thought leaders, including Nelson Mandela. The main objectives are then set out which are centered on providing an accessible volume on leading-edge thinking on responsible leadership, based on a partnership between the Institute for Responsible Leadership and the United Nations Institute for Training and Research. The meaning of responsible leadership is then explored not least with reference to progressing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Following a summary of the contents of the book, the chapter outlines its comparative benefits and anticipated readership.
