Abstract
Objective: The study was conducted to determine the effects of nitrogen (N) and potassium (K) on dry matter and some nutrient elements uptake of linoleic and high-oleic type sunflower varieties.Material and Methods: A greenhouse experiment was carried out in randomized factorial design with three replicates, 0, 16, 32, 48, and 64 mg kg-1 N and 0, 24, and 48 mg kg-1 K were applied. Results: Dry matter and nutrient uptake of sunflower varieties increased with nitrogen (p<0.01), however decreased with potassium. The highest amounts were obtained from 32 mg kg-1 N dose and ESGrafic CL variety. Conclusion: High-oleic type sunflower varieties have resulted in more fertilizer requirements.
