Abstract

The functional recovery of cat muscle spindles has been examined following short periods of denervation and reinnervation. The restoration of function was more rapid than after longer periods of denervation through the firing rates showed a similar reduction except after the shortest recovery periods when a number of highly dynamic afferents were recorded.
