Response Toward Recalls for the UN Reform Agenda from the Developing Countries: An Analysis of the Unsuccessful Proposals

Abstract

Several State Members, mostly the developing countries including Indonesia during 2012 United Nations Annual Meeting, recalled the UN reform agenda that seems showing no progress after started couple decade ago. The current world's peace situation by these States is considered as a result of the current world politics especially related to the UN's working mechanism. Reformation on the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) is the main concern of most State Members. Several proposals have been produced in order to response to State Members and some of the proposals have been accepted and implemented. However, the most crucial part of the proposal which is related to the UNSC's working mechanism remains the main challenge. This paper identified several factors for this failure and one of the most crucial things is from UN Charter itself.
