Abstract

In, F. Formenti (2021) proposed that ruthenium complexes, as an unsafe and toxic material, are not suitable for clinical applications and indicated that platinum porphyrin has been clinically applied to optical fiber oxygen sensors with short response time. This article will answer the questions raised by F. Formenti from the following aspects: 1.The toxicity of ruthenium complexes was overestimated. This article will briefly outline some biomedical applications based on ruthenium. 2. Hydrogels have been used in different biomedicine purpose, the ruthenium indicator in this article [2] will not leak from the polymer network structure hydrogel. 3. The response time in this article [2] is shorter than reported and the sensing system [2] has other excellent properties.
