Abstract

To the Editor: In their letter (1), Drs Ramsey, Shaib, and Graham raise a number of important issues in response to our recent article on utilization of surveillance endoscopy in patients with gastric ulcers (2). As we state in our article, we agree wholeheartedly that medical care needs to be tailored to the individual patient. However, we disagree with the assertion of our colleagues that endoscopists are most likely to be appropriately tailoring their care in this case.
