Abstract

Response: We appreciate the comments in the letter by Nedeltchev et al regarding our article1 that evaluated the short-term outcomes in patients with carotid artery occlusion versus other degrees of stenosis and that showed worse outcomes in patients with carotid occlusion. As noted in the letter by Nedeltchev et al and in our article, patients with carotid artery occlusion may face hemodynamic compromise that contributes to early adverse outcomes such as neurological deterioration.
