Abstract
TO THE EDITOR: I read the comments from Drs. Kelly and Howard with interest. They raise two important points: (a) the comparison of survival rates between the two forms of treatment currently available for permanent intestinal failure, namely, home TPN (HPN) and small bowel transplantation (SBTx), and (b) the measurement of quality of life (QoL) after these two forms of treatment.
