Abstract

In our study of patients with manifest vascular disease, we have observed that blood pressure below and above RR 143/82 mm Hg is an independent risk factor for recurrent events.1 This finding is also known as the “hypertension J curve” and is confirmed by many other studies in patients with manifest vascular disease. In our study, blood pressure level was defined as the highest mean of the office blood pressure measurements on 1 arm during a single visit.
