Abstract

Mobile Ad hoc networks (MANETs) provide an attractive solution for networking in the situations where network infrastructure or service subscription is not available. However, it has the disadvantage of high access latency and low data availability. The deployment of collaborative cache in Mobile Ad hoc networks can improve data availability, save communication overhead and improve access speed. In this paper, Mobile Ad hoc networks with collaborative cache is modeled. We use queuing network theory to analyze the average access delay of Cooperative Caching in Ad Hoc Networks. We propose the design of cooperative cache deployment strategy in Mobile Ad hoc networks should be aimed at reducing packet transmission distance, decreasing packet arrival rate and decreasing packet length. The simulation test also validates this conclusion.
